Located in the heart of the Liberties on historic Thomas Street, John's Bar & Haberdashery occupies buildings dating back to the 1600s. The buildings date to the 1600s, standing on a tannery site traced back to the 13th–14th century. An 18-month archaeological excavation on site recovered over 4,000 artefacts.
Named after John Creeth, a haberdasher who ran his shop under lease at 61 Thomas St in the 1850s, the pub aims to preserve the history of the Liberties and celebrate one of its oldest trades.
