Kaldero
Dublin's first Irish-Filipino restaurant, led by storytelling
Kaldero, meaning “pot” in Tagalog, captures the spirit of Ireland’s first Irish-Filipino restaurant, led by chef Richie Castillo and writer Alex O’Neill. Located on South King Street, Kaldero blends the flavours of Filipino tradition with Irish ingredients and open-fire cooking, all rooted in family recipes and the creativity of Ireland’s multicultural food scene. Richie and Alex, the duo behind Bahay, bring a bold, honest, and deeply personal approach to food, drink, and hospitality.
The menu is made for sharing - pulutan-style snacks, flame-grilled meats, and soulful sides - paired with cocktails inspired by Filipino ingredients and memories. The space itself is vibrant and welcoming, featuring art by Southeast Asian and Irish-Filipino artists and a music-led atmosphere that reflects the community around it.
More than a restaurant, Kaldero is a place to gather, connect, and celebrate identity. As part of Eclective, we’re proud to support Richie and Alex as they open the doors to their first permanent home.
