Friday, 6th February 2026: The Stapleton has opened on South William Street as a new bar and late-night venue in one of Dublin’s busiest nightlife districts. Located within Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, The Stapleton spreads across three unique floors. The Pub, The Bar, and The Lounge, with the mezzanine forming part of The Bar, bring together considered interiors, crafted drinks, and live DJs in a relaxed city centre setting.

Named after Michael Stapleton, the Irish stuccodore, The Stapleton takes quiet inspiration from Georgian craftsmanship while remaining contemporary in feel. Built in the 1770s for Richard Wingfield, 3rd Viscount Powerscourt, the townhouse remains one of Dublin’s most distinctive Georgian buildings.

Striking bars anchor each level, framed by tiered timber detailing and heritage influenced finishes. Open wood-burning fires and artwork from renowned Irish Artist Lola Donoghue create an enjoyable space to enjoy a pint or classic cocktail.

The Main Bar, located on the ground floor and mezzanine at The Stapleton is the social heart of the venue. Walk-in only with no reservations required, it has been designed for effortless, everyday enjoyment, whether you are stopping by for a drink or settling in as the room comes alive. Seating is informal and first come first served, supported by a relaxed, bar focused service style.

The space blends Georgian character with the energy of a contemporary Dublin bar, where original architectural details meet warm lighting and an open layout that encourages after work catch ups to long Saturday evenings.

Located upstairs, The Lounge provides reserved seating Thursday & Friday 4.00pm – 9.30pm and Saturday 1.00pm – 9.30pm. Outside of these times, the venue operates as walk-in.

The Lounge offers a dedicated table service, complemented by a cocktail led drinks menu spanning impeccably executed classics and thoughtfully crafted house signatures, alongside a curated selection of premium spirits and wines.

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, The Stapleton comes into its own as a late-night venue, with live DJs bringing energy to the historic rooms of Powerscourt Townhouse Centre. The mood shifts naturally from relaxed afternoons to lively city centre nights.

At the core, The Stapleton is designed to be straightforward to enjoy: a modern Dublin bar shaped by its Georgian surroundings, focused on good drinks, good company, and returning again.
